Tech Lead / Software Engineer

Lead an 8-person engineering team — architecture, solution design, and engineering standards — while staying hands-on as a back-end contributor.

  • Defined team processes and development best practices to drive code quality and delivery consistency.
  • Maintained the project documentation wiki to support onboarding and knowledge sharing.
  • Migrated deployment workflow from feature branches + manual QA to trunk-based CI/CD with automated tests, enabling multiple daily releases.
  • Adapted initial codebase with internal framework to be used on a modern architecture with minimal coupling, and led the team through the transition process.
  • AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) — defining team-wide practices for effective use and embedding them into the development workflow.

Joined IntrosMatter as a back-end contributor while still leading a BairesDev Partnerships team. The codebase had been built on BairesDev's internal legacy framework, and I led a full refactor toward Clean Architecture so we could decouple from the internal framework one module at a time — without ever slowing feature delivery. As the project hired and grew, I moved over full-time and stepped up as Tech Lead.

The team grew to eight engineers: three back-end (myself included), two full-stack, one front-end, and two QA. I also took on most of the project-manager responsibilities alongside the tech-lead role for about six months, until a dedicated PM joined for the final four months of the project.

The piece-by-piece transition let the new team choose technologies that genuinely fit the project as we replaced each framework dependency, and we landed on a fully independent, scalable platform. I also formalized and documented every team process — ticket workflow, code review, release and deploy, hotfix and restore procedures — giving the team a stable operating manual as we scaled.

BairesDev — Core Team — Buenos Aires, Argentina (Remote)

Technical Lead / Software Engineer

Promoted to Technical Lead within four months. Architected a new backend architecture and an integrated automated-testing solution.

Joined the BairesDev Core team to work on Partnerships, a small project staffed with one Tech Lead, two back-end engineers (me included), one front-end engineer, and one QA. The codebase was build from the ground using on BairesDev's internal framework, which presented several real challenges — the patterns I learned working through them later informed the decoupling work I led at IntrosMatter.

After four months I was promoted to Tech Lead of the team and stayed on the project until the codebase reached a stable, maintainable state. Partnerships is still cited internally at BairesDev Core by developers as one of the cleanest and easiest-to-maintain projects in the portfolio.

Built event-driven microservices on Azure and owned feature design and delivery with DDD and Clean Architecture standards.

My first long-term engagement after joining BairesDev. FoodX was a Vancouver startup serving a single anchor client — Carrefour Belgium — and together we designed, built, and went live with a full e-grocery platform: storage, order capture, fulfillment, and delivery all fully connected. I joined as a back-end developer and was promoted to Tech Lead within four months, owning three of the core services: Order Management, Smart Substitutions, and Intelligent Packaging.

Working alongside engineers who had come from Amazon and Microsoft, this was the project where I really developed my passion for back-end systems — event-driven architecture, message-bus patterns, and the operational realities of running production services at scale. The startup ultimately couldn't sustain itself past the two-year mark, but the technical depth I built there still shapes how I design systems today.
